Strawberries & Cream

I like both scents separately but even more so when layered. Vanilla Skin is just enough without being too sweet and heavy, while Strawberry Letter is a nice mid-scent that's neither harsh nor sweet. I would liken Strawberry Letter to Lancome's La Vie Est Belle Lelixer. The latter is far too heavy, sweet and leathery for me. When this travel duo is layered, the vanilla softens the slight bitterness of the Strawberry scent. Very summery, very fresh.

These two smells together are the best.

I just purchased today after spraying on my arm at Sephora and passing it up for another vanilla fragrance. I had to go back and purchase because it stayed true on the dry down and made me happy with its warmth and sweet smell. It’s not cloying or too much, but perfect!

I don't normally enjoy sweet perfumes. They usually smell "generic" to me, even the higher end ones... even the ones that smell good in the bottle end up having a Scented Lotion vibe once they hit my skin. However, I really enjoy this one.

I really think the Pink Pepper note helps it avoid a lotiony fate, and the Cashmere Wood adds some depth and keeps it from smelling sickeningly sweet. I tend to avoid vanilla perfumes because I lived through the 90s and it gives me flashbacks to the vanilla scented pillar candle that my mom's cat ate, but this one doesn't smell like a cheap vanilla candle at all. I'd say it barely smells like vanilla to me.

Due to my skin chemistry, it comes off a bit like Chanel Allure, but creamier. Or I might say it's a sweeter, more full-bodied Glossier You that projects more, or maybe a warmer and deeper Prada Candy. Obviously it is its own thing, I'm just drawing comparisons for reference. It smells a bit like it has an 'orange' note but for some reason Benzoin does that sometimes on me. That's not a bad thing, and that illusory note also fades after 5 minutes or so. Again, I like it - it's a nice everyday perfume that feels a little sensual, in a "generic sexy lady" way. I don't mean "generic" in a negative way, so much as meaning that I think most people can wear this one well. It's a good "starter sexy perfume" that's unlikely to offend very many people.

Anyway, I think I'd sum this one on my skin up as "sexy vanilla cream soda" or "sensual…
