What Does Parfum Mean In Perfumery?

Parfum is the French term that means “perfume”.  The terms “perfume” and “parfum” are used interchangeably, as they are essentially synonyms for one another.  Parfum refers to a scientific blend of extracted and fragrant essential oils, liquid solvents and synthetic additives to offer a specifically pleasurable aroma.  In perfumery, a parfum is typically sprayed or applied to the body in order to achieve a desired scent representation that lingers on the skin.  A parfum or perfume can be said to “represent” an individual style or emotion.
