The Best Post-Shower Fragrance Routine

Smelling good starts in the shower (or bath), of course. But how you smell throughout the day has as much to do with your cleansing routine as it does with your post-cleansing skincare and fragrance lineup. Here’s our routine for smelling incredible after the shower, in three steps.

1. Missing Person Body Oil

You maximize the skincare benefits of body oil when you massage it into damp skin—it’ll absorb faster and sink in deeper. The oil acts as a barrier, too, sealing in the water and preventing it from evaporating. The third benefit is how it makes you smell.

Our silky, lightweight body oil combines all those great skincare benefits with Missing Person, a delicate fragrance that evokes the lingering scent of your lover’s skin. “It’s reminiscent of the harmonious feeling you get when you emerge out of a bath, so relaxed—and yet invigorated all at the same time—with the scent of fresh, clean skin, glistening with supple softness, taking over your senses,” says Constance Georges-Picot, the perfumer who created Missing Person.

2. Father Figure Natural Deodorant

Applying deodorant is, of course, a non-negotiable hygiene step. But not every deodorant is created equal. The best ones are clinically proven to protect against odor and have a scent that you’re excited to put on.

We couldn’t find one that checked all our boxes, so we formulated our own. Father Figure Deodorant is natural and aluminum-free—but also made without baking soda, which is commonly used in natural deodorants, but can irritate your skin. It’s clinically proven to protect against odor for 48 hours. Potent skincare actives like BHA (salicylic acid) neutralize odor-causing bacteria and help brighten underarm discoloration, while nourishing algae and tamanu oil moisturize skin.

And then there’s the fragrance: Father Figure. We chose it not only because it’s a bestseller—but also because it embodies the crisp, fresh feeling of cool.

3. Missing Person Perfume

Amplify your body oil step with spritzes of the same scent, Missing Person. We created the body oil with perfume in mind—it’s formulated to layer with fragrance. Using them together is one of the best ways to boost scent longevity and extend this gorgeous scent beyond the shower.
